  • Compiling available evidence on nutritional status, current consumption patterns, service gaps, effective interventions and identification of knowledge gaps and research priorities at national ,provincial and district
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the National Nutrition Policy implementation.
  • Advocacy and collaboration with other sectors for Multisectoral Nutrition related programmes.
  • Periodic joint review of ongoing Nutrition programmes within the Ministry of Health.
  • Development and dissemination of the Nutrition Profiling Model(NPM).
  • Development and  maintenance of the NPM website.
  • Development of Monitoring and Evaluation mechanisms for ongoing Nutrition programmes within the Ministry of Health.
  • Piloting and review of the District Nutrition Monitoring System (DNMS) at national level.
  • Providing Evidence Based guidance for revision of existing Nutrition related
  • Midterm reassessment and revision of the Micronutrient Strategic plan and development of the Action plan in collaboration with other stakeholders.
  • Conduction of Nutrition related research and surveys for the development of Evidence.
  • Evaluation of Implementation status of Evidence based Recommendations and identification of barriers to implementation.
  • Development of a Geographic Information System(GIS) to aid comparison of data and risk factors within the country.
  • Conduction of Nutrition Surveillance using identified Nutritional Indicators
  • Periodic reporting and dissemination of Nutrition related Information.
