  • Conduction of research on the Hospital diet to provide recommendations.
  • Compilation of an evidence base on functional foods to combat diseases.
  • Development of disease based nutrition guidelines and standards in collaboration with the Non Communicable Disease unit
  • Development of guidelines on nutritional management of common GI diseases.
  • Development of guidelines on food and nutrition in emergencies and capacity building of Public Health staff.
  • Conduction of research on Impact of  nutrition upon disease ( Assessment of Adverse dietary practices among  Chronic Kidney Disease of Unknown Origin (CKDU) patients and people living in CKDU affected areas).
  • Development and revision of existing strategies, guidelines and circulars on nutrition incorporating current scientific knowledge, in collaboration with  other stakeholders. Dissemination of developed guidelines.
