Strategic Information Management and Planning (SIM) Unit
- Compiling available evidence on nutritional status, current consumption patterns, service gaps, effective interventions and identification of knowledge gaps and research priorities at national ,provincial and district
- Monitoring and evaluation of the National Nutrition Policy implementation.
- Advocacy and collaboration with other sectors for Multisectoral Nutrition related programmes.
- Periodic joint review of ongoing Nutrition programmes within the Ministry of Health.
- Development and dissemination of the Nutrition Profiling Model(NPM).
- Development and maintenance of the NPM website.
- Development of Monitoring and Evaluation mechanisms for ongoing Nutrition programmes within the Ministry of Health.
- Piloting and review of the Growth & Nutrition Monitoring System (GNMS) at national level.
- Providing Evidence Based guidance for revision of existing Nutrition related programmes.
- Midterm reassessment and revision of the Micronutrient Strategic plan and development of the Action plan in collaboration with other stakeholders.
- Conduction of Nutrition related research and surveys for the development of Evidence.
- Evaluation of Implementation status of Evidence based Recommendations and identification of barriers to implementation.
- Development of a Geographic Information System(GIS) to aid comparison of data and risk factors within the country.
- Conduction of Nutrition Surveillance using identified Nutritional Indicators
- Periodic reporting and dissemination of Nutrition related Information.
